ICOMOS France est heureux d’annoncer la parution de la publication issue du Symposium scientifique internationale de l’Assemblée générale 2011 de l’ICOMOS. Cette publication papier, entièrement bilingue, fait la synthèse des problématiques évoquées lors du Symposium scientifique organisé à l’UNESCO sur le thème « Patrimoine, moteur de développement », et constitue une suite aux Actes numériques publiés en 2012 sur les sites internet d’ICOMOS et d’ICOMOS France et qui accompagnent la publication sous forme de CD-Rom.
Ce ouvrage se veut un outil d’approche à la thématique du patrimoine comme moteur de développement. Il permet de percevoir les principaux enjeux des problématiques posées par la question du développement dans le contexte patrimonial, tout en évoquant les moyens nécessaires pour avancer. C’est le sens du titre Enjeux et projets.
L’édition de cet ouvrage a été rendu possible grâce au soutien de l’Institut national du patrimoine.

Results of the 17th ICOMOS General Assembly Symposium
ICOMOS France is proud to announce the release of a publication based on the 2011 ICOMOS General Assembly Symposium. This paper copy is entirely bilingual and forms a synthesis of the issues formulated during the scientific symposium on Heritage as a driver of development held at the UNESCO Headquarters end of 2011. The book is therefore the logical next step after the online release of the digital proceedings in 2012 on the websites of ICOMOS and ICOMOS France.
This collective work is a tool to better understand the issues related to heritage as driver of development. It helps comprehend the main challenges posed by the issue of development in a heritage context, as well as it brings keys to face those challenges. Hence the title: « Rising to the challenge ».
The production of this book was made available thanks to the support of the Institut national du patrimoine, the French government institution for the training of heritage professionals.
